This well-preserved, right-hand drive 1951 80-Inch basic model was brought to the UK from New Zealand in 2016 & has now gained an era specific registration. With this level of originality, it stands out as a rare and highly collectable example of the first-generation Land Rover.
Vehicle Overview
The 1595cc four-cylinder petrol engine is a superb original example and also has a solid bulkhead, chassis are characteristic aluminium body showing characteristic light wear and patina. These are a true reflection of its 77-year life, exemplifying the passion that generations have retained for these exceptional vehicles.
With its original utilitarian design, sturdy steel ladder frame chassis, live axles on leaf springs, and lightweight, corrosion- resistant aluminium body, this 1951 Land Rover retains key early features - including the rare Lucas headlights mounted behind the front grille, found only on the (1950 - 1951) models.
The interior also stays true to its original spec, with sprung spade seats up front and two rear bench seats - all in great condition. The dashboard and original gauges remain clean and fully functional, showcasing a good service history. .
